Intelligent Energy Limited unveils their hydrogen fuel cell system, IE-DRIVE™ 100, for passenger cars at the LCV 2023 event.
The IE-DRIVE™ 100 system has been designed to meet the performance and space constraints of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles (LCV), providing net peak power up to 110kW in a compact, engine shaped format.
The IE-DRIVE™ hydrogen fuel cell stack at the heart of the system can deliver 155kW of zero-emission power, making it one of the most powerful fuel cell stacks integrated into passenger cars. The system has been designed as a series of connected modules to provide flexibility for integration into different vehicles. IE’s direct water injection cooling system enables a more compact stack design as well as reducing the size of the heat exchanger.
The development of our IE-DRIVE™ products has been supported by the Advanced Propulsion Centre, with project partner Changan UK integrating the first DRIVE 100 system into an SUV and testing it later this year.
Greg Harris, Chief Commercial Officer at Intelligent Energy said:
This is such an exciting time for us at IE. We’ve already delivered the first IE-DRIVE™ 100 for system fit in Changan’s SUV, and now have 3 systems in test before the start of vehicle track trials.
