A controlled clinical study published in the “International Journal of Medicine” (International Journal of Medicine) proves that hydrogen inhalation has a positive therapeutic effect on inflammation of the airways.
10 patients with bronchial asthma took part in the study – 3 men and 7 women aged 33 years. up to 59 with mild and moderate bronchial asthma, with partial control of symptoms.
The air exhaled by the patients was examined, which was stored according to all the requirements and standards of ERS and ATS – the European and American organizations of lung diseases.
The research concluded that hydrogen inhalations reduce airway inflammation, which is explained by the reduction of inflammatory cytokines and especially Interleukin 33 (IL-33). In addition, hydrogen therapy has demonstrated a good tolerability and safety profile.
