Embarking on a new wave of electrolyzer scale-up, ITM Power has unveiled its latest 20 MW core electrolysis process module called ‘Poseidon’ with an optimized footprint that can be scaled-up into large facilities, both indoor and outdoor installation.
The company claims that it has already started bidding the module into commercial hydrogen projects. Based on our state-of-the-art ‘Trident’ stack platform, Poseidon consists of skid-mounted units, which can be pre-fabricated and pre-tested. This reduces deployment timelines and construction costs, and de-risks projects, ITM Power adds.
Dennis Schulz, CEO of ITM Power, commented on the development, “Green hydrogen project sizes continue to scale, and ITM is responding with a new product release. Poseidon is a game-changer for large-scale electrolyzer deployments.”
The other electrolyzer platforms of the UK-based company include ‘Trident’ and ‘Neptune’ 2MW plug-and-play electrolyzers for small to mid-size projects.
ITM Power recently revealed a steep decline in annual turnover and doubled pre-tax losses amounting to £101.2mn, although the company maintains to have made tangible progress in addressing those factors that inhibited the company’s electrolyzer production in recent times.
Earlier in April, the company even revealed plans to expand its production facility located at Bessemer Park in Sheffield for enhanced production output.
